How do I get to the lodge from Buenos Aires?
The two main options are: (1) fly to Corrientes (CNQ) or Resistencia (RES) — with a connection through Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE) for international guests — and take a private transfer coordinated by the lodge, between 2 hrs 30 min and 3 hours by road; or (2) fly by charter directly to our private airstrip LAD 3240, on the property, arriving at the lodge without any transfers. Tell us when booking and we'll organise the best access for your schedule.
Does the lodge have its own airstrip?
Yes. El Tránsito has the only private-use airstrip at the Carambola Portal, registered with ANAC under designation LAD 3240. It is 820 metres long, grass surface, runway 03/21 and CTAF 123.5 MHz. It allows charter aircraft to arrive directly at the lodge from anywhere in the country. If you are travelling by private or charter plane, we coordinate reception on the strip.
How many nights do you recommend?
There is no minimum stay. That said, we recommend at least 2 nights to enjoy the experience fully: wildlife outings at dawn and dusk, the rhythms of the wetland, the gastronomy. A single night is possible, but Iberá rewards those who stay.
What's included in the rate?
El Tránsito operates on a full-board all-inclusive basis: all meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner), drinks throughout the day, and all guided wildlife activities. Special activities such as sport fishing carry an additional charge. International guests are also exempt from Argentina's 21% VAT (IVA), representing approximately 17% off the published rate — applied automatically.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 2 to 3 months in advance for high season (July, August, year-end and Easter week). The lodge has only 13 rooms — which guarantees the intimate experience it is known for — but also means limited availability. For groups and exclusive lodge hire, the minimum suggested lead time is 6 months.
Can the lodge be reserved exclusively for groups?
Yes. El Tránsito can be reserved exclusively for private groups, corporate retreats, events or celebrations. With 13 rooms set within Iberá National Park, it is a unique setting for high-level experiences. For exclusive-hire enquiries, contact us with the type of event, dates and number of guests and we'll prepare a tailored proposal.
