Nine ways to discover Iberá
Boat Excursion
Navigation along the Carambola stream on our own vessel, the only one of its kind in the portal. The route includes stops for spotting caimans, capybara, marsh deer and a wide variety of birds. Departs from Puerto Juli Cué, 10 minutes from the lodge.
Kayak
Paddling in silence along the Carambolita stream: no engine, no noise, at water level. The most intimate way to get close to the surrounding flora and fauna. A direct encounter with nature that only the rhythm of the paddle makes possible. Departs from Puerto Juli Cué.
Horse-drawn Canoe
An ancestral practice of the Carambola Portal's wetland guides and the traditional mode of transport of local people. It does not exist at any other portal in Iberá — highlighted by BBC Travel as a defining experience of the portal. Includes flora and fauna spotting and a stop at a traditional refuge.
Horseback Ride to the Refuge
Led by local guides, the route departs 10 minutes from the lodge and crosses flooded grasslands and meadows until reaching a traditional refuge where afternoon tea is served in the heart of nature.
Nature Walk in Iberá National Park
Guided walks through the grasslands and woodlands of the National Park for the observation of birds, native flora and fauna. Two options depending on pace and interest: short circuit (1 km) or long circuit (4 km).
Night Safari
4×4 drive along the internal tracks of the Carambola Portal at dusk. The total darkness of Iberá transforms every outing: wildlife in complete freedom, deep silence and the starlit sky as the only horizon. Sightings are frequent, though never guaranteed.
Iberá Night Sky
Far from any light pollution, the esteros offer one of the clearest night skies in Argentina. The Milky Way, southern hemisphere constellations and shooting stars with the naked eye: an experience of pure contemplation that alone justifies the journey.
Chamamé Live Performance
Musicians and dancers from Concepción join guests in an experience that connects with the deepest roots of Corrientes. Chamamé — a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2020 — performed live under the Iberá sky is something that stays with you.
Cultural Tour of Concepción del Yaguareté Corá
A curated tour through the history of the town and its museums, full of music, customs and legends from this corner of Corrientes. The Corrientes way of life that Iberá carries within its territory.
Travelling in a large group?
Our experiences are designed for groups of up to 8 guests — a decision that guarantees the quality of each outing and respects the policies of the National Park. For larger groups, our team will put together a tailored programme: for some activities we will arrange shifts or smaller groups, making sure the experience is just as special for everyone. Let's talk to coordinate.
For those who want more
Two experiences available with prior reservation and at an additional charge.
Sport Fishing
~16 km navigation through the lagoons and channels of Iberá with a professional guide. Tracker Calchaquí 620 boats (max. 2 anglers per boat). Bait Cast with equipment included, or Fly Cast with your own gear. Artificial lure fishing and mandatory catch-and-release. Available for guests aged 13 and over. Half day (4 hrs) or full day (8 hrs).
Wellness
Massage, yoga, pilates and functional training sessions available in individual or group format. The perfect complement to round off a day in nature. Subject to availability and prior coordination with the lodge team.
